Just For Fun
Summer 2011 was a busy one. Unfortunately, most of it was taken up by packing, painting, and unpacking, as I downsized from one home to another. However, I managed to get in a couple of fun days here and there. Here are two of them.
Rock Climbing, August 2011
In August I went rock climbing for the first time. It was a great adventure, giving me the opportunity to reconnect with the woods, push through physical challenges, and use mental strategy to get through tough situations. I loved the challenges, and the toughened fingertips, minor scrapes, and sore muscles were worth it! I know, these aren’t the greatest pictures in the world, but hopefully, you’ll get the idea.
Sunrise Yoga, July 2011
A group of ambitious souls from my local YMCA makes an annual trip to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor, Maine) for sunrise yoga. This year, my oldest daughter and I joined them. The excursion required a 2:45 am wake-up call. We met the group in Bangor at 3:30, then proceeded on the 1 hour and 15 minute drive, arriving just as dawn began. After yoga and a wonderful group breakfast, my girl and I went on a hike.
